Better Board, Same Price!!
The EPS 400 low-profile overlay floor panel offers a simple solution to install underfloor heating into your home without the need to uplift your floor or dig out foundations. The panels can be placed directly onto the existing concrete, floorboards or tile and are a perfect choice for retrofit installations.
EPS panels are made from high-compressive strength expanded polystyrene (EPS). EPS400 has the strongest density among comparable products and can be used
with all floor coverings (laminate, carpet, tiles, vinyl and engineered wood). With a minimal height increase of just 20mm and a high compressive strength of 400 kPa, they offer a simple but solid solution to install underfloor heating onto existing floors.
The 20mm low-profile board houses a 16 mm pipe, spaced every 150mm. The boards feature pipe channels, 180° turns, and return channels. Each Panel is secured with adhesive and can be cut and installed easily.
The panels are topped with 200-micron thick aluminium foil, which facilitates swift heat-up times of as low as 30 minutes. Aluminium provides excellent heat distribution, ensuring that heat spreads evenly across the area of the board and the entire floor.
Key Features
Low Profile Overlay Floor Panel
Their 20 mm low-profile design ensures minimal floor height increase on existing surfaces.
Laid on any solid existing floor
Underfloor heating overlay boards are installed on any solid surface. This includes concrete, wooden floors and tiles.
High compressive strength
With a strength of 400 kPa, these boards are very durable. Capable of withstanding high weight and pressure they protect the system without compromising performance.
Foil-coated insulation
These underfloor heating overlay panels include a 200-micron coating used to enhance the efficiency of the system by distributing heat across the surface.
Return Loops
Overlay boards are pre-grooved with channels at 150mm spacing. The pipe passes back to the manifold through the return grooves in the boards.
Ease of Installation
Overlay boards offer simple installation through their lightweight design and grooved channels.
*PLEASE NOTE: THIS PRODUCT HAS A MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY OF 10 BOARDS*

Installation
The installation of low-profile underfloor heating overlay boards is a straight forward process. This involves cutting the boards with a saw and fixing them using glue. Attention to detail during installation is crucial to ensure proper fitting of the system. For comprehensive guidance for our Installation guide.
Floor Preparation
- Boards can be fixed to any solid surface; the subfloor must be dry, level and clear of dust & debris.
- A floor levelling compound may be required if the floor surface is uneven.
Board Layout
- Transitional boards are used in areas of high pipe density.
- Boards are installed lengthwise following the direction of the pipes.
- It can be useful to lay all of the panels on a dry floor in order to find any potential issues with the layout before fixing the panels
- Begin laying overlay panels in the corner of the room, ensuring tight edges against the walls during placement.
Cutting
- Boards can be cut easily to allow for seamless installation around obstacles.
- Use a craft knife or insulation saw to cut boards.
- Transitional areas, additional corners, 90° bends and extra pipe channels can be cut from full boards.
- A router can be used to cut new channels within the boards.
Fixing to floor
- A contact adhesive will provide a secure bond to the subfloor. Ensure the adhesive is free from all chlorinated solvent as this would damage the board.
- Spray adhesive is recommended as it provides quick and strong bonding of boards to concrete and wood. Available in 500ml spray cans and 22ltr canisters for use with a spray gun.
- Porous surfaces may require an additional coat to be applied to the underside of the overlay boards.
Laying Pipe
- Ensure all boards are fully secure and all pipe channels are free any debris.
- Refer to the layout drawing continuously when laying pipe runs.
- Carefully walks along the pipe pushing the pipe down into the straight pipe channel with the sole of your foot.
