Motorised actuator with unique built-in automatic balancing control for under floor heating Systems to ensure each circuit is always correctly balanced.
As a “fit & forget” addition to underfloor heating, the use of an auto-balancing actuator removes the need to manually monitor and adjust flow-meters within your underfloor heating system, which can prevent the need to call in installers for those unfamiliar with the operation and maintenance of an underfloor heating system. They can be especially useful when retro-fit to systems where the original pipe lengths are no longer known, but are equally beneficial to new systems due to the ease they create upon installation.

The Salus THB2430 auto-balancing actuator is used to regulate surface heating and cooling systems. The unique built-in automatic balancing control ensures each circuit is always correctly balanced. the actuator maintains a 7°C differential between the flow and return of each pipe in the system. The actuator is attached to the manifold, opening and closing the valve in the return port. This is operated by the signal sent by your wet underfloor heating thermostat or wiring centre.
The Salus THB2430 auto-balancing actuator has two temperature sensors. They are connected between the actuator and the flow & return pipes or the inlet and outlet of the manifold. The auto-balancing UFH actuator will measure the sensor temperature and adjust the actuator position to maintain the correct temperature differential between the emitter flow and return pipes

Installation
Below are the steps to connect your actuator to a VPS manifold.
- The Salus THB2430 is fitted on the return bar of the manifold. Placed above each return port for individual control.
- Remove the blue flow cap and expose the actuator valve.
- Attach the actuator to underfloor heating manifold thermostatic valves. Place the unit onto the valve and screw the ring nut onto the valve thread.
- Connect the wiring from the actuator to the appropriate control source. This is often wired from the thermostat or a central wiring centre. This connection powers the unit.
- After completing the installation, remove the red tab which holds the control unit open. Perform a system test to ensure the 24v actuator responds correctly to control signals. By following these steps, you can successfully fit an actuator onto your underfloor heating manifold. this will provide individual control and efficient operation for your heating system.
